Clean Water Project
One of the most meaningful projects I have been involved in was a clean water initiative in Imo State, Nigeria, where I helped bring safe, reliable water access to a local school and the surrounding community. Seeing firsthand the challenges that students and families faced in obtaining clean drinking water reinforced the importance of the project and its lasting impact. By helping plan and implement the construction of a water well, we were able to provide a sustainable source of fresh water that improved health, supported student attendance and learning, and reduced the daily burden of water collection for many families. What began as a school infrastructure project ultimately became a community resource, serving hundreds of people and reminding me that even a single well can create meaningful change, improve quality of life, and help build a stronger future for an entire community.
Mentor Program
I am passionate about developing people and creating opportunities for others to grow, lead, and succeed. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to mentoring students, early-career professionals, and emerging leaders through programs with ITSMF (Information Technology Senior Management Forum), General Electric (GE), and Carnival Corporation. Drawing on decades of executive leadership experience in technology, cybersecurity, and business transformation, I enjoy helping others navigate their career journeys, strengthen their leadership capabilities, and expand their professional networks. I believe that leadership is not defined solely by business results, but by the ability to inspire, develop, and empower others to achieve their full potential. My commitment to mentorship reflects my belief that investing in people is one of the most meaningful ways to create a lasting impact and help shape the next generation of leaders.
Bridge Da Gap
I am passionate about creating opportunities that empower young people to succeed through education, technology, and personal development. As a supporter and sponsor of Bridge Da Gap, I am proud to help advance programs focused on youth education, technology exposure, and digital skills development. I believe that access to knowledge and technology can be transformational, particularly for underserved communities, and I am committed to helping bridge opportunity gaps by supporting initiatives that prepare students for future academic and career success. Through my involvement, I have championed efforts that encourage learning, innovation, and confidence-building, with the goal of equipping the next generation with the tools and skills needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world. Giving back in this way reflects my broader leadership philosophy: creating lasting impact by investing in people and helping others realize their full potential.
Crimson and Cream Foundation
For more than 40 years, I have been committed to serving youth and strengthening communities through my leadership and support of multiple alumni chapters of the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation in Cleveland, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, and Miami. Throughout that time, I have helped establish and grow programs focused on academic achievement, leadership development, mentorship, and college readiness for young people from junior high school through high school graduation. I have been honored to mentor countless students, helping them build confidence, develop life skills, pursue higher education, and prepare for future careers. In partnership with fellow alumni and community leaders, I have also supported scholarship programs and fundraising initiatives that have generated more than $300,000 in financial assistance and program funding, creating opportunities for hundreds of students and families. This work reflects my longstanding belief that leadership is ultimately about service, investing in others, and creating pathways for young people to achieve their full potential and become the next generation of leaders in their communities.

Christopher Buse
Chief Information Security Officer at Old Republic
I worked with Gary while I was Manager of Six Sigma Center of Excellence and he was chosen, based on his leadership and accomplishments, to be the Six Sigma Champion for the global IT organization. At the time, IT groups were some of the more challenging to adopt Six Sigma, but Gary welcomed that challenge and helped develop a large group of leaders within IT, while delivering significant process improvements across a global organization. He is always someone I've respected and enjoyed talking to for his insight into how to apply Six Sigma in non-manufacturing environments.

Board briefs, AI governance updates, and cyber risk perspectives from Gary Eppinger.
Board Brief
Five Questions Every Board Should Ask About AI
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly reshaping business models, operational efficiency, customer engagement, and competitive advantage. While AI presents significant opportunities, it also introduces governance, security, regulatory, ethical, and reputational risks.
Cybersecurity Is a Business Risk, Not an IT Problem
Cybersecurity is no longer just a technology issue. A significant cyber incident can disrupt operations, impact revenue, trigger regulatory scrutiny, damage customer trust, and reduce shareholder value.
The role of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) has evolved significantly. Today's CEO expects the CISO to be more than a technical expert responsible for cybersecurity controls.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is creating new opportunities for growth, innovation, productivity, and customer engagement. At the same time, AI introduces risks related to data privacy, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, bias, intellectual property, decision-making transparency, and organizational reputation.
Lessons from Leading Security Across Fortune 100 Companies
While technologies, industries, and threat landscapes continue to evolve, the most successful Fortune 100 organizations share common approaches to cybersecurity leadership. Experience across large global enterprises consistently demonstrates that cybersecurity effectiveness is less about technology and more about leadership, governance, culture, resilience, and business alignment.

Organizations don’t need more cybersecurity. They need trusted executive guidance that aligns technology, risk, resilience, and business value. That’s where I help.
